dc.descriptionIntroduction: Lack of adherence to antiretroviral treatment is a recurring problem both in Chile and in the world. End AIDS requires uninterrupted access to treatment for life. The lack of adherence deprives the user of obtaining the benefits provided by medical treatments and therefore its determination constitutes a tool that allows a favorable prognosis or not of the expected results. Objective: To describe adherence to antiretroviral treatment (ART) in the adult population. Material and Method: Quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive study. On-line SMAQ questionnaire was applied to 22 subjects belonging to a group of people living with HIV / AIDS after signing the informed consent. Approved by the Scientific Ethics Committee of the Santo Tomás University. Results: 77.3% of the participants turned out not to be adherent to ART. 59.1% of people did forget to take their medication more than once, di not respect the indicatedschedule and stopped taking it when they felt bad, while 90.9% of the subjects did not forget to take their medication during the weekend. Conclusion: It was established that poor adherence to ART is a complex, multidimensional public health problem that is increasing, so it requires the intervention of the Nursing professional, improving the therapeutic relationship between professional and user, as well as improving patient skills. communication, carry out an exhaustiveassessment and develop a personalized health education.en-US
dc.descriptionIntroducción: La falta de adherencia al tratamiento antirretroviral es un problema que se repite tanto en Chile como en el mundo. Para acabar con el SIDA, se requiere un acceso al tratamiento de por vida y sin interrupción. La falta de adherencia priva al usuario de obtener los beneficios que proporcionan los tratamientos médicos y por eso su determinación constituye una herramienta que permite hacer un pronóstico favorable o no de los resultados a esperar.Objetivo: Describir la adherencia al tratamiento antiretroviral (TARV) en población adulta. Material y Método: Estudio cuantitativo, no experimental, descriptivo. Se aplicó cuestionario SMAQ on-line a 22 sujetos pertenecientes a una agrupación de personas viviendo con VIH/SIDA previa firma de consentimiento informado. Aprobado por el Comité Ético Científico de la Universidad Santo Tomás. Resultados: 77,3% de los participantes resulta no ser adherente al TARV. Un 59,1% de personas sí olvidó más de alguna vez tomar su medicación, no respetó el horario indicado y dejó de tomarlo al sentirse mal, en cambio 90,9% de los sujetos no olvidó tomar la medicación durante el fin de semana.Conclusión: Se estableció que la mala adherencia al TARV es un problema de salud pública complejo, multidimensional y que va incrementándose, por lo que se requiere la intervención del profesional de Enfermería, mejorar la relación terapéutica entre profesional y usuario, así como mejorar habilidadeses-ES
