| dc.description | The Nara Conference on authenticity marked a turning point in the history of modern conservation, with the recognition of cultural relativism. The journey to reach this was not fortuitous, but rather a theoretical construction of the concept of authenticity, influenced by different factors. Thus, the objective of this study was to understand the degree of incidence that these had, in a time frame of 30 years, in which experts would question the nature of the concept, based on its degree of operability in certain cases of conservation, such as the Sanctuary from Ise (Japan) and the Rideau Canal (Canada). They favored that the notion of authenticity, limited to historical material, will be extended to the consideration of intangible aspects, which would not only be precursors of cultural relativism, but also of the diversity of properties to be contemplated, as part of the World Heritage List. | en-US |
| dc.description | La Conferencia de Nara sobre autenticidad marcó un punto de inflexión en la historia de la conservación moderna, con el reconocimiento del relativismo cultural. El recorrido para llegar a este no fue fortuito, sino que se trató más bien de una construcción teórica del concepto de autenticidad, influenciada por distintos factores. Así, el objetivo de este estudio fue comprender el grado de incidencia que estos tuvieron en un marco temporal de 30 años, en el que expertos cuestionarían la naturaleza del concepto, a partir de su grado de operatividad en ciertos casos de conservación emblemáticos, como el Santuario de Ise (Japón) y el canal Rideau (Canadá). Esto propició que la noción de autenticidad, ceñida al material histórico, se ampliara a la consideración de aspectos intangibles, que no solo serían precursores del relativismo cultural, sino también de la diversidad de bienes a ser contemplados, como parte de la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial. | es-ES |
