La historiografía ha abordado el naufragio de la fragata Wager como un episodio puntual dentro de la expedición de George Anson al Pacífico (1740-1744), sin prestar mayor atención a sus cuatro fuentes. En este artículo identificamos cada una de ellas y ediciones, destacando su valor para el estudio y reconstrucción de realidad geográfica y étnico-cultural de la Patagonia Occidental en el siglo XVIII. Destacamos también su valor como relatos de viaje, favoreciendo una comprensión más completa del contexto de la expansión ultramarina europea y la Ilustración.Palabras clave: Wager, naufragio, relatos de viaje, Patagonia  Occidental, Gran Bretaña.Historiography has addressed the shipwreck of the Wager frigate as a specific episode within the expedition of George Anson to the Pacific (1740-1744), without paying much attention to its four sources. In this article we identify each of them and their editions, highlighting their value for the reconstruction of Western Patagonia’s geographical and ethnic-cultural reality in the 18 th century.
