The construction of monuments is an essential device to settle that imaginary homeland since then until today. In this context, this study seeks to identify and analyze the monuments and sites associated with the Army of the Andes Crossing, a Latin American epic that has left a vast heritage materiality, in particular, in the Aconcagua valley in Chile, where the greater part of this legacy. Next to it, this study seeks to determine the historical, allegorical and legendary representations that evoke these monuments and sites, as well as the current uses of this historical military heritage, setting forth a national historical memory, a factor of local identity and an element of economic development.; Desde inicios del siglo XIX, con los procesos de independencia nacionales, los Estados latinoamericanos comenzaron un proceso de auto-construcción a partir de referentes simbólicos, con los cuales se honraba a la patria a través del recuerdo de acontecimientos y personajes gloriosos. La construcción de monumentos constituye un dispositivo fundamental para asentar aquel imaginario patrio desde entonces hasta el día de hoy. En este contexto, este estudio busca identificar y analizar los monumentos y sitios asociados al Cruce del Ejército de los Andes, una gesta latinoamericana que ha dejado una vasta materialidad patrimonial, en particular, en el valle de Aconcagua en Chile, donde se encuentra la mayor parte de este legado. La dimensión inmaterial del patrimonio industrial en la Población Obrera Sociedad Explotadora de Tierra del Fuego, Punta Arenas, Chile The construction of the Working Class Housing “Sociedad Explotadora de Tierra del Fuego” in the 1950s in the city of Punta Arenas, meant, in addition to a manifestation industrial paternalism logics, the consolidation of a community of neighbors that strengthened a bond with each other. Once the livestock industry decided to get detached from the houses, in the prelude to its disappearance, this community began to disintegrate. The following article explores around the collective memory that has survived the dissociation process, in a way that seeks to avoid its disappearance and to claim a legacy in which both architecture and sociocultural dimensions merge.; La construcción de la Población Obrera Sociedad Explotadora de Tierra del Fuego, en la década de 1950 en la ciudad de Punta Arenas, significó, además de una manifestación de las lógicas del paternalismo industrial en la zona, la consolidación de una comunidad de vecinos que afianzó un fuerte lazo entre sí. Una vez que la industria ganadera se desprendió de las viviendas, en la antesala de su desaparición, aquella comunidad comenzó a disgregarse. Ruins and artistic interventions in Villa San Luis of Las Condes; Formas provisorias de conjurar el pasado. Ruinas e intervenciones artísticas en la Villa San Luis de Las Condes The article contributes to the discussion about the concept of ruin, taking as a case of analysis the vestiges of Villa San Luis, in the commune of Las Condes (Santiago of Chile). Under the current scenario of heritage and property disputes faced by this iconic housing project promoted by the socialist government of Salvador Allende, we observe the ways in which the ruin represents a sensory rupture in the supposed space/time continuity of the city, and we analyze a set of artistic strategies around this milestone that -through suggestive and open visual resources- return visibility and memory to a space threatened by the relentless advance of the city.; El artículo contribuye a la discusión en torno al concepto de ruina, tomando como caso de análisis los vestigios de la Villa San Luis, en la comuna de Las Condes (Santiago de Chile). Transitions in the propulsion of ultramarine navigation in Argentina (1921-1966); De la vela al vapor, del vapor al motor. Las transiciones en la propulsión de la navegación ultramarina en Argentina (1921-1966) Ultramarine navigation has been the mechanism that allowed the conformation of an ecumenical world market. From the fleets of galleons of the colonial period in the Americas to the diffusion of steam and the hegemony of the engine to explosion then, no transport system has managed to displace the navigation of its dominant position. Navigation has been perfected to incredible levels and increased to surpass the figure of 100,000 merchant ship immense circumnavigating the world. In this paper we analyzed the two most recent transitions in the modes of propulsion, of the sail to the steam and of this to the engine to explosion, starting from the presence of ships in the ports of Argentina; country that has historically been dependent on navigation in its foreign trade. The sources of information used are integrated with specialized texts, published national statistics and a series built for Puerto Quequén, an important grain port in Argentina. It has been possible to verify both the beginnings and the end of the transitions, slower than what is supposed, and the periods of coexistence of different propulsion systems.; La navegación ultramarina ha sido el mecanismo que permitió la conformación de un mercado mundial ecuménico. Desde las flotas de galeones del período colonial en las américas, hasta la difusión del vapor y la hegemonía del motor a explosión luego, ningún sistema de transporte ha logrado desplazar a la navegación de su posición dominante. La navegación se ha perfeccionado hasta niveles increíbles e incrementado hasta superar la cifra de 100.000 buque mercantes inmensos circunnavegando el mundo. En el presente trabajo analizamos las dos transiciones más recientes en los modos de propulsión, es decir de la vela al vapor y de éste al motor a explosión, a partir de la presencia de buques en los puertos de Argentina; país que ha sido históricamente dependiente de la navegación en su comercio exterior. Las fuentes de información utilizadas se integran con textos especializados, estadísticas nacionales publicadas y una serie construida para Puerto Quequén, un importante puerto cerealero de Argentina. Se han podido verificar tanto los inicios como el final de las transiciones, más lentas que lo supuesto, y los períodos de convivencia de diferentes sistemas de propulsión. https://revistaschilenas.uchile.cl/handle/2250/243473
