The premiere of the documentary Columbus DNA. Its true origin on Spanish RadioTelevision on October 12, 2024, the day of the national holiday of Hispanidad, hasresurrected the debate on the social origin of Admiral Christopher Columbus. After aseries of genetic tests, the aforementioned documentary concluded that the most likelyhypothesis is that it came from a family of Jewish-converted silk weavers who lived in15th century Valencia. This hypothesis is justified by various indications that do notcontradict the idea of Columbus' humble origins, accepted by the absolute majority of thescientific community. In that sense, Columbus was part of a family of wool weavers whoemigrated first to Genoa and then to Savona from the rural environment of Liguria. Theexisting lack of news about the first thirty years of the admiral's life since his birth in 1451is what allows new research challenges.; El estreno del documental Colón ADN. Su verdadero origen de Radio Televisión Españolael pasado 12 de octubre de 2024, día de la fiesta nacional de la Hispanidad, ha resucitadoel debate sobre el origen social del almirante Cristóbal Colón. Después de una serie depruebas genéticas, el citado documental concluía que la hipótesis más probable es queprocediera de una familia de tejedores de seda judeoconversos que vivió en la Valenciadel siglo XV. Dicha hipótesis está justificada por diferentes indicios que no entran encontradicción con la idea del origen humilde de Colón, aceptada por la mayoría absolutade la comunidad científica. The text has three sections and a conclusion.The first part analyzes the role of Augustine in the struggle against the Donatist resistance inAfrica, paying special attention to Augustine's reply to the biblical reading of his adversaries.In the second part, the theological foundation against the “martyrology” elaborated by theDonatist resistance is analyzed on the basis of an analysis of Augustine's treatise on patience.Finally, the concept of patientia in Civitate Dei is positioned, showing its relationship withAugustinian eschatology. The conclusions reflect on the concept of “inversion of Christianity”,problematizing the role and place of Pauline theology in Augustine's thought and work.; El siguiente escrito analiza la relevancia del concepto de patientia en el pensamiento y obra deAgustín de Hipona con relación a la aplicación de la legislación imperial en contra de lascomunidades disidentes al catolicismo romano en África. El texto cuenta con tres apartados yuna conclusión. To investigate the circumstances surrounding his rise to the throne, political decisions, his relationship with the pars occidentis court and theimplications of his reign in pars orientis constitute the main objective of this study. With this purpose, the previous events that preluded to this stage will be analyzed, which framed his designation as well as his historical performance until his fall.; El interés de este trabajo consiste en comprender la relevancia política y estratégica que tuvo la figura emergente de Procopius Anthemios para el Imperio en su conjunto y en momentos de verdadera crisis para Occidente y como una garantía de paz.
