| dc.description | The study examines the historical evolution of the inclusion of the gender dimension in Chile's international trade insertion, focusing particularly on the recent Feminist Foreign Policy, which makes it a pioneer in the South American region in adopting one of these characteristics. Problems such as wage inequality, low female representation in decision-making and the lack of effective mechanisms to guarantee gender commitments in trade agreements at the international level are highlighted. In view of this, a review of this new millennium is made to analyze the importance of the most important regional and plurilateral agreements that have guided action in various intergovernmental scenarios and of this new national need to address the structural causes of inequality to consider the specific needs of women and other historically invisible groups in society. It also emphasizes the importance of strengthening the mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating trade policies from a gender perspective, as well as the creation of dispute settlement bodies to ensure compliance with the commitments undertaken to eradicate poverty and promote fairer, more equitable and inclusive growth for all. | en-US |
| dc.description | El estudio examina la evolución histórica de la inclusión de la dimensión de género en la inserción comercial internacional de Chile, enfocándose particularmente en la reciente Política Exterior Feminista (PEF) que lo convierte en pionero en la región sudamericana al adoptar una de estas características. Se destacan problemas como la desigualdad salarial, la baja representación femenina en la toma de decisiones y la falta de mecanismos efectivos para garantizar los compromisos de género en los acuerdos comerciales a nivel internacional. En virtud de ello, se hace un repaso de este nuevo milenio con el fin de analizar la importancia de los acuerdos regionales y plurilaterales más importantes que han permitido guiar la actuación en diversos escenarios intergubernamentales y de esta nueva necesidad nacional en abordar las causas estructurales de desigualdad a los fines de tomar en consideración las demandas específicas de las mujeres y otros grupos históricamente invisibilizados de la sociedad. Además, se enfatiza la importancia de fortalecer los mecanismos de seguimiento y evaluación de las políticas comerciales con perspectiva de género, así como la creación de instancias de resolución de controversias para asegurar el cumplimiento de los compromisos adquiridos a los fines de erradicar la pobreza y promover un crecimiento más justo, igualitario e inclusivo para todos por igual. | es-ES |
