| dc.description | The current problem that has arisen within the Andean Pact may culminate in Chile's exit from the process that brought together six countries. The other five - Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela - have reached an agreement on tariffs and the treatment of foreign investment. Consequently, the hopes of the Chilean government economic team to be accompanied by other countries in positions of free trade and indiscriminate openness to foreign investment would be fading. Current evolution indicates that the integration process within the Andean pact would continue, with all its members or only five of them. This paper examines the main origin of the problem and the dangers that a negative outcome would represent for the permanent interests of Chile. | en-US |
| dc.description | El actual problema en surgido al interior del Pacto Andino, puede culminar con la salida de Chile del proceso que agrupa a seis países. Los otros cinco –Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y Venezuela– han logrado un acuerdo en el campo arancelario y el tratamiento a las inversiones extranjeras. En consecuencia, se estarían desvaneciendo las esperanzas del equipo económico gubernamental chileno de ser acompañados por otros países en las posiciones de libre comercio y de apertura indiscriminada a la inversión extranjera. La evolución actual indica que el proceso de integración dentro del seno del pacto andino continuaría, con todos sus miembros o solo cinco de ellos. En el este trabajo se examina el origen principal del problema y los peligros que un desenlace negativo representaría para los intereses permanentes de Chile. | es-ES |
