dc.description	The article analyzes the historical construction of the heroic figureof Arturo Prat in the Chilean theater between 1897 and 2002.Our proposal suggests that the dramatic representation of thecharacter can be understood as an effective testimony of the collectiveimaginary, associated with political perception and nationalidentity of each period. Maintaining his status as reference,Arturo Prat, on stage goes from the virtuous model of nineteenthcenturyromanticism, to another that, in XXI century, humanizeshim and fight against his own limitations.Keywords: Arturo Prat, theater, drama, hero.	en-US
dc.description	El artículo analiza el proceso de construcción histórica de lafigura heroica de Arturo Prat en el teatro chileno entre 1897 y2002. Nuestra propuesta sugiere que la representación dramáticadel personaje puede ser entendida como un eficaz testimoniode los imaginarios colectivos, asociados a la percepciónpolítica e identitaria nacional de sus respectivas épocas.Sin perder su condición de referente, Arturo Prat, en escena,transita desde el modelo virtuoso propio del romanticismodecimonónico, a otro que, en siglo XXI, se humaniza y debeluchar contra sus propias limitaciones.Palabras clave: Arturo Prat, teatro, drama, héroe.	es-ES
