| dc.description | Los cambios históricos que la modernización produjo en Latinoamérica estuvieron estrechamente vinculados con los cambios en el oficio de la prostitución. En este trabajo examinaremos la relación de la modernidad con el discurso de la ‘trata de blancas’, con el higienismo estatal y con la moral sexual imperante desde la oficialidad, para reflexionar cómo estos cambios estructurales y discursivos afectaron las prácticas y representaciones de la prostitución reglamentada. La temporalidad escogida es el período de la reglamentación que se inaugura en 1874 en Argentina, hasta su abolición en 1936.Chile, Argentina y Uruguay han sido seleccionados como espacio de análisis comparativo, porque además de compartir el área geográfica del cono sur latinoamericano, comparten características que evidencian en un nivel más amplio los cambios históricos y la huella de los mismos en la prostitución: Modernización del Estado, secularización de sus instituciones, urbanización producto de migraciones internas y externas, y reglamentación de la prostitución bajo el modelo napoleónico francés.Palabras clave: prostitución, modernización, higienismo, moral sexual, trata de blancas. | es-ES |
| dc.description | The historical changes made by the modernization in Latin America were extremely connected with the changes occurred in the practice of prostitution. This paper will examine the relationship between, the modernization and the “white slavery” speech, with the health policy and the prevailing sexual morality from the officiality, with the propose to make a reflection about how these structural and discursive changes made effect on the practice of prostitution and its regulation.The period chosen for this study begins from the early regulation in 1874 in Argentina, until its prohibition in 1936. Chile, Argentina and Uruguay have been selected as the space of comparative analysis, because, apart from the fact that they share the same geographic area of the Latin America south cone, they also share characteristics that show, on a bigger level, the historical changes and its mark on the prostitution: Government modernization, secularization of its institutions, urbanization because of the internal and external migrations, and the regulation of the prostitution under the French Napoleonic model.Keywords: Prostitution, modernization, health policy, sexual morality, white slavery. | en-US |
