El presente trabajo aborda las relaciones entre lo privado y lo público, expone la prevalencia que ha tenido uno sobre otro en distintas etapas de la historia y asimismo se dirige a probar que a pesar de estas circunstancias, jamás ha ocurrido la desaparición de alguno de ellos a expensas del otro. Por tanto, no hay razón que justifique la pretendida desprotección o relajamiento del Derecho con respecto a la privacidad del individuo, incluso en la época presente, de la sociedad del conocimiento y la información, donde la cultura de la autoexposición pareciera afirmar lo contrario. La creciente investigación y aceptación del Derecho al Olvido en el derecho europeo, por ejemplo, prueban la tesis del presente artículo y se expone como capítulo final del trabajo.This work deals with the relations between the private and the public, it exposes the prevalence that has had one over another in different stages of history and also aims to prove that despite these circumstances, the disappearance of any of them has never occurred because of the other. Therefore, there is no reason to justify the alleged lack of protection or relaxation of the Law in front of the privacy of the individual, even in the present era, of the knowledge and information society, where the culture of self-exposure seems to affirm the contrary. The growing research and acceptance of the Right to be forgotten in European law, for example, prove the thesis of this article and it is exposed as the final chapter of this work.
