| dc.description | La Reserva Ecológica de Cuxtal (REC) provee de servicios ambientales a la ciudad de Mérida, Yucatán, uno de ellos, es la provisión de agua. El crecimiento demográfico ha amenazado la estabilidad de la reserva, es por ello que, a través del método de valoración contingente, fue estimada la disponibilidad a pagar sobre la conservación del recurso hídrico proveniente de la REC. El estudio aborda un enfoque cuantitativo y de corte transversal, utilizó una muestra de 298 hogares de distintas zonas de la ciudad de Mérida. Para el análisis de los datos fue utilizada estadística descriptiva y un modelo de regresión para variables censuradas. Los resultados indican que el 64% de la población está dispuesta a pagar para la conservación del recurso con un monto bimestral estimado de $151.00 MXN, siendo las variables edad, tamaño de familia, tamaño de la vivienda y ubicación de la vivienda las que mayor influencia tienen sobre la DAP.Palabras clave: Valoración contingente, reserva ecológica, recurso hídrico, disponibilidad a pagar, tobit.Abstract: The Ecological Reserve of Cuxtal (REC) provides environmental services to the city of Mérida, Yucatán, one of which is the provision of water. In recent years problems of pollution and demographic growth have threatened the stability of the reserve, which is why, through the contingent valuation method, the availability to pay on the conservation of water resources from the REC was estimated. The study was a quantitative and cross-sectional approach used a sample of 298 households from different areas of the city of Merida, Yucatan. For the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics and a regression model for censored variables were used. The results indicate that 64% of the population is willing to pay for the conservation of the resource with an estimated monthly amount of $ 151.00 MXN, being the variables age, family size, size of the house and geographical house’s location the most influential They have about the willingness to pay.
