This article encloses two theological lectures offered by the author, in the context of an interdisciplinary academic seminar that took place at the Catholic University of the North, Chile. The papers focus on the recent Encyclical Leter Laudato si’ of Pope Francis on Care for our common home,  emphasizing the vision on Nature and the responsibility of Humanity toward it, which springs up from a Christian perspective. As it corresponds to a document that is inserted in the Social Teaching of the Church, there is a Theology in the Encyclical that the author tries to identify in some of its fundamental features. In addition, he emphasizes both the interdisciplinary character of the Encyclical as well as the remarkable articulation between the ecological and the social, where he recognizes the ecclesial and theological Latin-American background of Pope Francis.  El presente artículo recoge dos ponencias teológicas ofrecidas por el autor, en el marco de un seminario académico interdisciplinar que tuvo lugar en la Universidad Católica del Norte. Las ponencias se focalizan en la reciente Carta Encíclica Laudato si’: Sobre el cuidado de la casa común, del papa Francisco, poniendo de relieve la visión sobre la naturaleza y la responsabilidad del ser humano hacia ella, que brota desde una perspectiva creyente. Como corresponde a todo documento que se inserta en la enseñanza social de la Iglesia, subyace en la encíclica una teología que el autor explicita en algunos de sus rasgos fundamentales. Además, destaca tanto el carácter interdisciplinar de la encíclica como la notable articulación entre lo ecológico y lo social, donde se nota el sello eclesial y teológico latinoamericano del papa Francisco.
