Este texto busca poner de manifiesto que el trabajo intelectual fue un modo fundamental de resistencia al interior de la prisión política durante la dictadura militar chilena. Éste se manifestó de diversas formas, la más notoria fue la creación de escuelas. Dicha escuelas se formaban a partir de las charlas y conferencias que los detenidos más informados ofrecían a sus compañeros. Los letrados, sin embargo, no solo daban estas conferencias, sino que también dedicaban su tiempo al estudio, a la reflexión, a la escritura y a la discusión. En un contexto de deshumanización sistemática, estas acciones permitieron sostener la humanidad –o recuperarla-, ellas hicieron posible ganar algún tipo de control y sostener márgenes de libertad, además de generar lazos entre los prisioneros que posibilitaron resistir conservando la dignidad.This text seeks to establish that the intellectual work was a fundamental mode of resistance within thepolitical prison during the military dictatorship in Chile. This intellectual work had different forms ofexpression. The more notorious form was the creation of schools. Such schools emerged from the talksand conferences that those prisoners with more studies offered to their fellow. Those intellectuals,however, not only gave these conferences, but also devoted their time to the study, the reflection, thewriting and the discussion. In a context of systematic dehumanization, these actions made it posible tohold humanity, or recover it, to gain some kind of control and sustain margins of freedom, as well asgenerating links between prisoners that allowed them to resist and preserve there dignity.
