dc.description	In 2018, the Colombian right’s consolidation of power minimized the peace process by blocking the transformative aspirations of the 2016 peace agreement. However, the transformative promises of peace came back to the political arena during the presidential elections, when an ample coalition of leftist parties and grassroots movements supported Petro’s candidacy. This suggests that, despite the multiple obstacles, power asymmetries, and the continuous influence of violence, the Colombian peace agreement is responsible for something that no other political event—not even the momentous 1991 Constitution—has yet achieved: the existence of a programmatic discussion between the left and the right.	en-US
dc.description	En 2018, la paz adquirió una connotación minimalista con la consolidación del bloque de derecha, que operó como muro de contención a las aspiraciones transformadoras de la paz de 2016. Pero la paz transformadora volvió a la escena pública durante las elecciones presidenciales con la amplia coalición de partidos de izquierda y movimientos de base que respaldaron la candidatura de Petro. Esta situación sugiere que, a pesar de los muchos tropiezos y asimetrías de poder, así como de la poderosa influencia que la violencia aún ejerce, el acuerdo de paz está logrando en Colombia lo que ningún otro acontecimiento —ni siquiera la Constitución de 1991— había alcanzado: una discusión programática entre izquierda y derecha.	es-ES
