dc.descriptionThis note refutes sorne of the arguments published by Adolfo Garcé and Cecilia Rocha's article entitled "Political Science in Uruguay: Between Professionalization, "Partidización" and the Specter of 'Perestroika Movement'" (Vol. 35 (1)). Because it is largely empirically grounded, Ido not reject most of the descriptive and analytic side of the paper. Instead, my note criticizes a set of final comments without empírica/ evidence, value-driven and prejudiced regarding a minority of Uruguayan scholars. This minority that holds and promotes sorne of the theoretical and methodological standards of the discipline is criticized far its "dominan/ discourse". Ironically, the Uruguayan Perestroika not only could rise from this minority with scarce institutional power, but would promote theoretical and methodological standards.en-US
dc.descriptionEsta nota refuta algunos argumentos del artículo publicado por Garcé y Rocha titulado "La Ciencia Política en Uruguay: Entre la Profesionalización, la Partidización y el Fantasma del 'Movimiento Perestroika"' (Vol. 35 (1) ). Mi nota no refiere al componente descriptivo del artículo de Garcé y Rocha, sino a un conjunto final de aseveraciones sin sustento empírico, fuertemente valorativas y prejuiciosas hacia una minoría de académicos que ejercen la ciencia política en Uruguay. Esta minoría que adhiere al ejercicio de la disciplina en el marco de algún estándar teórico o metodológico es criticada por su pretensión dominante, sin más evidencia que su discurso. Irónicamente, la Perestroika a la uruguaya solo podría nacer desde este grupo minoritario y con escaso poder institucional, promoviendo el uso de estándares.es-ES
