In 2007 Nicaragua saw the electoral victory of Daniel Ortega to the presidential office and the first policy decisions of his government. This article first examines the process that brought the FSLN back to power. Secondly, it analyzes the composition and nature of the new government, as well as its first steps taken. It then presents the dynamics of the pacts and coalitions which have formed successively in the National Assembly, where the FSLN holds the largest minority position, and discusses the current constitutional reform debate. Finally, the article concludes with an analysis of the process of transformation that took place within the FSLN since it lost the election of 1990 until its return to power in 2007. On the basis of this change it asks what may be expected from the second Ortega administration.El año 2007 en Nicaragua estuvo marcado por la llegada de Daniel Ortega a la Presidencia de la República y por las primeras medidas de su nueva administración. Centrándose en dicho acontecimiento el texto que se presenta razona, en primer lugar, por qué el FSLN llegó nuevamente al poder. Posteriormente analiza la composición y naturaleza del nuevo gobierno, así como las primeras medidas implementadas. A continuación presenta la dinámica de coaliciones y pactos que se sucedieron en la Asamblea Nacional, donde el FSLN es la minoría mayor; y señala el debate de reforma constitucional en curso. Finalmente el artículo concluye con un análisis de la mutación realizada por el FSLN desde que perdió las elecciones en 1990 hasta que recuperó el poder en 2007, y en base a ésta plantea qué puede esperarse de la segunda Administración Ortega.
