dc.descriptionThe electrochemical nitroreduction of nitrofurantoin has been studiedon carbon paste and glassy carbon electrodes. We can observe a monoelectronicreversible couple ArNO2/ArNO2.- and anirreversible peak due to the further reduction of nitro radical to thehidroxilamine via three electrons. According to the experimental results, the reduction process shows atypical behavior of an EC mechanism. The k2 obtained values showed that the nitroradical anion was better stabilized on carbon paste electrode
