| dc.description | The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) was created to provide a technical solution to the multiple problems of social and economic development in the region, as a cooperation mechanism that sought to obtain a specific goal: “economic and social, individual and collective development of the emerging regional member countries”, giving priority to projects of an integrationist nature. This priority associates the Bank's role with the functionalist current. This paper will try to show that the IDB is assimilated to the functionalist theory of community integration, which formulates that national political systems are inadequate to solve many problems due to the interdependent nature of the modern world and that therefore it is obvious that the solution of technical problems at the regional or global level must be solved by international technical organizations. | en-US |
| dc.description | El Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) fue creado para dar una solución técnica a los múltiples problemas de desarrollo social y económico de la región, como un mecanismo de cooperación que buscaba la obtención de un fin específico: "el desarrollo económico y social, individual y colectivo de los países miembros regionales en vías de desarrollo", dando prioridad a los proyectos de carácter integracionista. Esta prioridad asocia la función del Banco a la corriente funcionalista. Este trabajo tratará de demostrar que el BID se asimila a la teoría funcionalista de integración de comunidades, que formula que los sistemas políticos nacionales son inadecuados para resolver muchos problemas por la naturaleza interdependiente del mundo moderno y que por la tanto es obvio que la solución de los problemas técnicos a nivel regional o mundial deben ser resueltos por organismos técnicos internacionales. | es-ES |
