After the outbreak of World War II on September 1, 1939, the American nations, including the United States and the Argentine Republic, declared themselves neutral in the face of the conflict. However, the subsequent development of events was configuring one of the deepest and longest crises in the relations of both American nations. The purpose of this work is to analyze the relations of the United States and Argentina within the framework of the neutral position of the latter in order to later be able to conclude some of the basic guidelines that underlie foreign policy with respect to the United States in that period.Tras el estallido de la Segunda Guerra Mundial el 1 de septiembre de 1939, las naciones americanas, incluidos los Estados Unidos y la República Argentina, se declararon neutrales ante el conflicto. Sin embargo, el desarrollo posterior de los acontecimientos fue configurando una de las crisis más profundas y prolongadas en las relaciones de ambas naciones americanas. El propósito de este trabajo es analizar las relaciones de los Estados Unidos y Argentina en el marco de la postura neutral de esta última para luego poder concluir algunos de los lineamientos básicos que subyacen a la política exterior respecto de los Estados Unidos en ese período.
