| dc.description | Through the use of the polar concepts of consensus and conflict –on the one hand– and of compatibility and incompatibility –on the other– in the internal and external dimensions (respectively) of the foreign policy of a State, this work explores the hypothesis that Chilean foreign policy in the period since the end of World War II has evolved from predominantly consensual characteristics on the internal dimension, and from compatibility on the external level to rather conflictive characteristics on the internal and increasingly incompatible on the external. For this, the analysis is divided into two parts, one studies the internal variables that affect the formation of policies, and the other comments on the characteristics of foreign policies and the Chilean international position since the Government of Gabriel González Videla. | en-US |
| dc.description | A través del uso de los conceptos polares de consenso y conflicto –por una parte– y de compatibilidad e incompatibilidad –por otra– en las dimensiones internas y externas (respectivamente) de la política exterior de un Estado, este trabajo explora la hipótesis de que la política exterior chilena en el periodo desde el fin de la Segunda Guerra Mundial ha evolucionado a partir de características predominantemente consensuales en la dimensión interna, y de compatibilidad en el plano externo a características más bien conflictivas en lo interno y de creciente incompatibilidad en lo externo. Para esto, se divide el análisis en dos partes, una estudia las variables internas que inciden en la formación de las políticas, y la otra realiza un comentario de las características de las políticas exteriores y la posición internacional chilena a partir del Gobierno de Gabriel González Videla. | es-ES |
