| dc.description | The study of international relations, as an academic discipline, has had little development in Latin America within the realm of the social sciences. Against this background, some of the advances and features that the development of the discipline has registered in recent years are examined from the point of view of the contributions made by the Journal of International Studies. That is, delimiting its field of study, highlighting its relevance in a period in which it is possible to perceive with greater clarity the fact that the development of Latin American countries has been accompanied by a growing integration and interdependence in the international system and Third, to provide elements of judgment to choose between the various approaches with which it is possible to work in this field, testing those that would seem to be more appropriate to the needs of the Latin American reality. | en-US |
| dc.description | El estudio de las relaciones internacionales, como disciplina académica, ha tenido un escaso desarrollo en América Latina dentro del conjunto de las ciencias sociales. Contra ese telón de fondo, se examinan algunos de los avances y rasgos que ha registrado el desarrollo de la disciplina durante estos últimos años desde el punto de vista de los aportes efectuados por la revista Estudios Internacionales. Esto es, delimitar su campo de estudio, destacar su relevancia en un período en que es posible percibir con mayor claridad el hecho de que el desarrollo de los países latinoamericanos ha ido acompañado de una creciente integración e interdependencia de estos en el sistema internacional y, en tercer lugar, a suministrar elementos de juicio para optar entre los diversos enfoques con que es posible trabajar en este campo, ensayando aquellos que parecerían ser más adecuados a las necesidades de la realidad latinoamericana. | es-ES |
