| dc.description | This paper examines the relations between the People's Republic of China and Chile between 1970 and 1990. In the first place, the motivations that led both countries to initiate contacts in the internal and international framework in which they were made are established, as well as the subsequent reactions that occurred. Some elements of relations with China during the Popular Unity government and later with the military government are briefly mentioned. At the same time, the main milestones presented by these bilateral relations are studied, emphasizing the political and economic levels. Antarctic cooperation, business contacts and commercial exchange are especially covered. Finally, among the conclusions, flexibility and pragmatism stand out, as permanent characteristics observed in the relations between the two countries. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este trabajo aborda las relaciones entre la República Popular de China y Chile entre 1970 y 1990. En primer lugar se establecen las motivaciones que llevan a ambos países a iniciar contactos en el marco interno e internacional en que estos se hicieron, así como las reacciones posteriores que se produjeron. Se mencionan brevemente algunos elementos de las relaciones con China durante el gobierno de la Unidad Popular y luego con el gobierno militar. Al mismo tiempo se estudian los principales hitos que han presentado estas relaciones bilaterales, enfatizando los planos político y económico. Se descubre en especial la cooperación antártica, los contactos empresariales y el intercambio comercial. Finalmente, entre las conclusiones se destacan la flexibilidad y el pragmatismo, como características permanentes observadas en las relaciones entre ambos países. | es-ES |
