| dc.description | All the information available up to December 1983 indicates that the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI) never took off, as well as that the buffering effect at the regional and national level on the economies of its member countries that individually and jointly suffer the consequences of the crisis current world has been null. These statements unfortunately refer to all the main aspects of the intraregional economic cooperation activities envisaged by the Montevideo Treaty, cooperation focused on trade, but never defined and based on partial actions that are not coordinated but supposedly convergent in the long term. And it is that in the attempt of an economic integration with the purpose of development and industrialization in the region, neither through ALALC nor ALADI has been able to establish a legal and institutional political infrastructure and the instruments congruent with their supposed medium and long-term objectives. | en-US |
| dc.description | Toda la información disponible hasta diciembre de 1983 indica tanto que la Asociación Latinoamericana de Integración (ALADI) nunca despegó, como también que el efecto amortiguador al nivel regional y nacional sobre las economías de sus países miembros que individual y conjuntamente sufren las consecuencias de la crisis mundial en curso ha sido nulo. Estas afirmaciones se refieren desafortunadamente a todos los aspectos principales de las actividades de cooperación económica intrarregional previstas por el Tratado de Montevideo, cooperación centrada en el comercio, pero nunca bien definida y basada en acciones parciales no coordinadas sino supuestamente convergentes a largo plazo. Y es que en el intento de una integración económica con fines de desarrollo e industrialización en la región, ni mediante la ALALC ni la ALADI se ha podido establecer una infraestructura política legal e institucional y los instrumentos congruentes con sus supuestos objetivos a mediano y largo plazo. | es-ES |
