Este artículo analiza el autogolpe y se pregunta acerca de las razones del presidente para tomar esta iniciativa, teniendo en cuenta la reacción internacional y las consecuencias políticas internas. Sostenemos que el pronunciamiento fue cuidadosamente planificado y que sus costos se habían evaluado. Por un lado, Perú había logrado insertarse económicamente en el sistema internacional, revirtiendo la crisis económica y, por otro, contaba con el apoyo del pueblo. Sin embargo, la principal duda sobre la efectividad del autogolpe está en el efecto que tendrá en la lucha contra Sendero Luminoso. | es-ES |
| dc.description | Alberto Fujimori surprised Peru and the world on the afternoon of Sunday, April 5, by announcing on national television the "temporary" suspension of the Constitution and the Congress of his country. This article analyzes the self-coup and asks about the president's reasons for taking this initiative, taking into account the international reaction and the internal political consequences. We maintain that the pronouncement was carefully planned and that its costs had been evaluated. On the one hand, Peru had managed to insert itself economically into the international system, reversing the economic crisis and, on the other, had the support of the people.
