| dc.description | After the enormous changes that have occurred on the world stage in 1989 and 1990, does it make sense to continue talking about the Third World and all that it implies? To answer this question, an analysis is carried out on the concept and evolution of the term Third World and refers to the situation of the countries of the South at the end of the Cold War, affirming that the North-South problem continues. The type of development and the role that these countries must undertake within the new institutional framework that prevails in a globalized world is examined, referring especially to the possibilities facing Latin America. Due to the above, it is concluded that South-South ties should be strengthened and the North-South relations agenda renewed. | en-US |
| dc.description | Después de los enormes cambios que han ocurrido en el escenario mundial en 1989 y 1990, ¿tiene sentido seguir hablando de Tercer Mundo y todo lo que ello implica? Para responder esta interrogante, se realiza un análisis sobre el concepto y la evolución del término Tercer Mundo y se refiere a la situación de los países del Sur al término de la Guerra Fría, afirmando que la problemática Norte-Sur continúa vigente. Se examina el tipo de desarrollo y el papel que estos países deben emprender dentro de la nueva institucionalidad que impera en un mundo globalizado, refiriéndose especialmente a las posibilidades que enfrenta América Latina. Debido a lo anterior se concluye que se deben fortalecer los lazos Sur-Sur y renovar la agenda de las relaciones Norte-Sur. | es-ES |
