2006 marked a new era in Bolivian history. For the first time, an aymaran origin leader constitutionally assumed the country’s Presidency. Throughout this year, President Evo Morales Ayma emitted policies to reform the State and recover the control of Bolivia’s natural resources. The process of changing the Bolivian political Constitution started with the creation of a Constituent Assembly and an autonomic referendum, parallel processes that until today, are still redefining the country’s new political - administrative configuration.Bolivia, en el 2006, inició una etapa nueva en su historia. Por primera vez un líder de origen aymara, Evo Morales Ayma, asumía constitucionalmente la Presidencia del país. Durante este año el Presidente emitió políticas destinadas a reformar el Estado y a recuperar el control estatal de los recursos naturales. El proceso de cambio de la Constitución política del Estado se abrió con el llamado a la Asamblea Constituyente y con el referéndum autonómico, procesos paralelos que están hasta la fecha redefiniendo la nueva configuración político-administrativa del país.
