| dc.description | El género y la sexualidad son componentes de la identidad humana y de la participación ocupacional. Pocos estudios en Terapia Ocupacional desde Latinoamérica han considerado estos aspectos, particularmente, en la fase de envejecimiento. El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar las relaciones entre género, sexualidad y envejecimiento en las publicaciones de Terapia Ocupacional en el contexto latinoamericano. Se realizó una revisión de alcance, con estrategias de búsqueda en las bases de datos: Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS), Web of Science, Scielo, PubMed y OTdatabase y en 11 revistas de Terapia Ocupacional. Desde las palabras clave género, sexualidad, vejez y envejecimiento, se consideraron artículos publicados en español y portugués, con las palabras clave en los títulos y/o resumen y/o descriptores. Se identificaron 51 artículos y solamente uno se incluyó en la investigación. El artículo aborda las relaciones entre la sexualidad y la vejez, plantea una revisión crítica del tema y elabora ejes para la práctica en terapia ocupacional. La revisión de alcance reveló que hay artículos limitados que abordan el género y la sexualidad de las personas mayores, necesitando más investigaciones para mejorar los servicios y la producción epistemológica en la Terapia Ocupacional. | es-ES |
| dc.description | Gender and sexuality are components of human identity and occupational participation. Few studies in Occupational Therapy from Latin America have considered these aspects, particularly in the aging phase. The aim of this study was to identify the relationships between gender, sexuality and aging in Occupational Therapy publications in within Latin American. A scope review was carried out, with search strategies in the following databases: Virtual Health Library (VHL), Web of Science, Scielo, PubMed and OTdatabase; and in 11 Occupational Therapy journals. Using the next key words gender, sexuality, old age and aging, articles published in Spanish and Portuguese were considered, with the keywords in the titles and/or summary and/or descriptors. Therefore, 51 articles were identified and only one was included in this investigation. The article addresses the relationship between sexuality and old age, proposes a critical review of the topic and elaborates axes for the practice in occupational therapy. The scope review revealed that there are limited articles that address gender and sexuality of older people. Which demonstrates the need further research to improve Occupational Therapy services and its epistemological production. | en-US |
