Con el objeto de conocer la respuesta hematológica y de proteínas séricas frente a cepas del VHB-1 aislados en el país, fueron inoculados 12 bovinos menores de un año de edad y serológicamente negativos al virus.Los resultados obtenidos mostraron una disminución de los leucocitos totales y linfocitos en los animales inoculados. Además en dos aumentó el número de monocitos entre el tercer y quinto día postinoculación. En relación a las proteínas séricas analizadas, éstas no sufrieron cambios significativos en los animales inoculados.AbstractTwelve calves less than one year old and negatives to infeccious bovine rhinotracheitis virus, divided in three groups of four were inoculated with three different strains of bovine herpes virus type 1(BHV- 1) isolated in Chile. Blood cells and serum proteins were analyzed at different times, using classical methods.The results showed a decrease in total leukocyte and lymphocyte count with the three virus strains used. In two of them there was an increase in the monocyte number between the third and fifth days post inoculación. The total serum protein concentración and its fractions did not show variations during the assay.
