Twenty-four wild mice were surveyed for fifteen H-2 Class I antigens using hemmaglutination and absorption tests. Significantly higher frequencies of H-2.5 and H-2.3 specificities were observed with both methods. However, some specificities that show lower frequencies (e.g. H-2.2) by the hemmaglutination test displayed a high frequency by the absorption method. Although serological typing was restricted to H-2 antigens found in inbred strains, our results revealed that each of the wild mice is characterized by a new combination of H-e specificities, as expected according to the polymorphism described in wild mouse populations. A study on Ss nd Slp proteins showed that all of the wild mice had the Ss-High, Slp-negative phenotype.    en-US
