| dc.description | El estudio se realizó en equinos F.S. inglés de carrera, del nacimiento hasta los 18 años.Las características dentarias estudiadas en los incisivos fueron: erupción, rasamiento, nivela­miento, estrella dentaria, forma del incisivo, cola de golondrina y surco de Galvayne. La verificación de la edad se efectuó en los libros de registro del Stud Book de Chile.Los resultados, en la mayoría de los aspectos, son coincidentes con la literatura universal sobre la materia, se observan algunas diferencias con otros autores en lo referente a rasamiento de los incisivos permanentes de la arcada superior.La estrella dentaria es uno de los elementos que se presenta en forma más irregular.AbstractA study in thoroughbred horses was done from birth to eighteen years old.The incisors characteristics considered were, eruption, form, wearing, dental star, smooth incisors, notch or swallow tail of the upper corner incisor and the Galvayne's groove. Age of the horses was certified in the registries of the Stud Book of Chile.Results are coincident in many aspects with the world literature on the matter, some differences are in relation with the degree of wear of the upper incisor.
