| dc.description | This research is centred on the analysis of the linguistic structures and the persuasive strategies used in religious discourse by the Ministerio Internacional Iglesia Fuente de Agua Viva. Its objective is to identify those mechanisms that legitimate discourse and infl uence the thought and the actions of the audience (van Dijk 1993). The theoretical framework put forward by van Dijk (1993), in his theory about critical analysis of discourse, was used to carry out this research. This theoretical framework states that discourse id is not merely the verbalization of a message, but it includes cognitive aspects such as understanding and reasoning. Besides, theory establishes that discourse effi cacy and power are realized through the use of a social stronghold that in this case would be constituted by religion. The conclusions show which are those linguistic and contextual conditions that back the effectiveness of such religious discourse on the people. | en-US |
| dc.description | Esta investigación analiza las estructuras lingüísticas y las estrategias persuasivas utilizadas en un discurso religioso del Ministerio Internacional Iglesia Fuente de Agua Viva. El objetivo del análisis es identificar aquellos mecanismos que legitiman el discurso e influyen en el pensamiento y las acciones de la audiencia (van Dijk 1993). Para realizar la investigación se utilizó el marco teórico propuesto por van Dijk (1993) en su teoría sobre análisis crítico del discurso. Dicho marco conceptual plantea que el discurso no consiste solamente en la verbalización de un mensaje, sino que incluye aspectos cognitivos como la comprensión y el razonamiento. Esta teoría, además, establece que la efi cacia y el poder del discurso se realizan a través del uso de algún baluarte social como lo es la religión, en el caso analizado. Las conclusiones de la investigación arrojan cuáles son aquellas condiciones lingüísticas y contextuales que respaldan la efectividad de dicho discurso religioso entre las personas. | es-ES |
