| dc.description | The present article airns to give a brief survey of sorne of the most irnportant technological changes which have affected the concept and use of natural language From the first and probably most important of these changes, the invention of writing, to more recent ones, sucli as television and hypei-text, there have always been people who were in favor of their introduction and people against thein, especially because of their possible effects on the mental process related to the use of language. Yet, scientific studies on the matter have been rather scarce and no clear conclusion has been reached. Now that the computer has found its place in our educational system, it is really irnportant and urgent to study systematically whether the technologies associated with it hinder or favor the leaming of our students. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente artículo tiene como objetivo hacer una revisión histórica de algunos de los más importantes avances tecnológicos que han afectado el concepto y uso del lenguaje. Desde el primero y el más importante de estos impactos-la invención de la escritura-- hasta los más recientes -el hipertexto pasando por la televisión, han tenido sus defensores y detractores por los posibles efectos sobre los procesos mentales concomitantes. A pesar de ello, no se han llevado a cabo estudios científicos suficientes como para llegar a conclusiones consensuadas. Ahora que la computadora ha entrado al ámbito de la educación sistemática parece aun más necesario y urgente iniciar estudios para comprobar si las tecnologías que su uso pone al alcance de nuestros alumnos, perjudican o favorecen el aprendizaje. | es-ES |
