El presente artículo aborda la evolución del concepto de Estado de Derecho en Francia y cómo se intentó poner límites al monarca en el ejercicio del poder. Este proceso, asimismo, se evidencia en las numerosas constituciones que los franceses han dictado. Sin embargo veremos que desde 1789 en adelante, comenzó a gestarse un lento y progresivo proceso de sujeción de la actividad del Monarca al Derecho.The present article addresses the evolution of the concept of Rule of Law in France and how it tried to place limits on the ruling monarch. This process is also evidenced in the numerous constitutions that the french have enacted so far. However since 1789, a slow and progressive process of submission of the activity of the Administration to the Law has begun to develop.
