The human being goes through crucial moments in life, one of them is to face the reality of the disease, and even more, the terminal state. In this situation the human being faces pain for not knowing how to act or what steps to follow. On the part of health personnel, they may experience confusion and nostalgia for the responsibility of ensuring the care of the terminally ill; On the part of patients and families, they are overwhelmed by different emotions because they are the closest to this unexpected reality. Taking this context into account, the article aims to offer an idea about palliative care for communities that are not oriented to this reality from the postulates offered by the Catholic Church and the Ministry of Health as an aid that guides the good death of each human being.El ser humano pasa por momentos cruciales en la vida, uno de ellos es enfrentarse a la realidad de la enfermedad, y más aún, al estado terminal. Ante esta situación el ser humano afronta dolor por no saber cómo actuar ni qué pasos seguir. Por parte del personal de la salud ellos pueden experimentar confusión y nostalgia por la responsabilidad de velar por el cuidado del enfermo terminal; por parte de los pacientes y las familias, ellos se ven sobrecogidos por diferentes emociones debido a ser quienes están más de cerca esta realidad inesperada. Teniendo en cuenta este contexto, el artículo pretende ofrecer una idea sobre el cuidado paliativo para comunidades que no están orientadas ante dicha realidad desde los postulados ofrecidos por la Iglesia Católica y el Ministerio de Salud como ayuda que oriente al buen morir de cada ser humano.
