Resumen: Atendiendo a los requerimientos de una formación teológica adecuada al actual contexto latinoamericano marcado por la globalización, el autor recoge algunos elementos fundamentales de la teología de Juan Luis Segundo, pues considera que siguen siendo pertinentes. Entre los elementos que destaca de este insigne padre de la teología latinoamericana, de cuya muerte se conmemoran este año dos décadas, está su temprana y lúcida atención a la correcta articulación entre fe y culturas; su empeño por destacar la fi nalidad humanizadora de la teología, como, también, la dimensión crítica y liberadora de la misma. Además, el impulso que dio a una teología que partiera de la realidad, que atendiera a las preguntas de los creyentes y formara cristianos adultos en la fe, capaces de seguir aprendiendo y de abordar nuevos desafíos en un escenario como el actual de cambios vertiginosos. Abstract: Considering the requirements for a theological formation in the current Latin-American context shaped by globalization, the author gathers up some important elements of Juan Luis Segundo’s theology, because he considers they are still relevant. Among the characteristics that the author highlights of this remarkable father of the Latin-American Theology –who passed away two decades ago– is the early and lucid attention that Segundo paid to the correct articulation between faith and cultures. Also, the emphasis on the humanizing objective of Theology, as well as the critical and liberating purposes of it. Another important element is the impetus that gave to a Theology based on reality, which answers questions made by believers and forms adults in faith. Christians adults in faith that are able to continue learning and dealing with new challenges on a constantly changing context.
