| dc.description | In the present story, Coloane evokes the history of Otey, a subaltern subject within subaltern groups who is discriminated against doubly: because he was born in Chiloé and is a rural worker. This account questions Argentinean history's official version about the strikes in Patagonia during the 1920's. At the same time, it tries to expand the category “pioneer” in order to include those human beings neglected, silenced and murdered in the name of peace, civilization and progress. In the story, the frontier looks like a materially and a socially porous space, communication passing through its fissures and gaps. In this work, I will observe the aforementioned space considering a three-dimensional perspective that includes geopolitical, social and economical points of view. | en-US |
| dc.description | En el presente cuento, Coloane evoca la historia de Otey, un sujeto subalterno dentro del grupo subalterno, doblemente discriminado: por ser trabajador rural y por haber nacido en Chiloé. Este relato ficcionalizado cuestiona la versión oficial de la historia argentina sobre las huelgas de la Patagonia en la década del '20 y, al mismo tiempo, presiona a la categoría “pionero” para incluir dentro de la misma a aquellos seres humanos negados, silenciados y asesinados en nombre de la paz, la civilización y el progreso. La frontera se asemeja en el cuento a un espacio físico y social abierto, o bien intercomunicado en sus fisuras e intersticios; espacio que observaré desde una perspectiva tridimensional que incluye el punto de vista geopolítico, social y económico. | es-ES |
