| dc.description | The growing process of urbanization affecting important territories, both in Chile and in Latin America, together with the increase in large energy, extractive and real estate projects, which seek to increase capital and finance the expansion of the global economy, are A constant source of socio-environmental conflicts, where the economic interests of power groups are set against the environmental and cultural interests of citizen groups seeking to protect the resources and natural spaces of the territories they inhabit. so. These conflicts, which occur in the different forms and levels of urbanization that occur in the world, are expressed with some relevance in the Metropolitan Area of Valparaiso, where there are increasingly worrying conditions of environmental degradation and Loss of biodiversity, leading to a significant number of disputes and increasing forms of social polarization. In this article we present the preliminary results of an exploratory study that, from the field of ecological anthropology, addresses some socio-environmental conflicts present today in this metropolitan area, focusing our objective in describing three cases where the interests of the citizens are confronted with the Economic interests of corporate groups. The cases described reflect experiences of social resistance arising from the citizen spaces involved in these conflicts and allow the identification of the contents and practices that favor citizen participation and inclusion in the processes of urban and environmental management of The metropolitan areas of the country. | en-US |
| dc.description | El proceso creciente de urbanización que afecta a importantes territorios, tanto en Chile como en América Latina, unido al aumento de grandes proyectos energéticos, extractivos e inmobiliarios, que buscan acrecentar el capital y financiar la expansión de la economía global, son una fuente constante de conflictos socio-ambientales, donde los intereses económicos de los grupos de poder se contraponen con los intereses ambientales y culturales de grupos ciudadanos que buscan proteger los recursos y los espacios naturales de los territorios que habitan. Estos conflictos, que ocurren en las distintas formas y niveles de urbanización que se dan en el mundo, se expresan con cierta relevancia en el Área Metropolitana de Valparaíso, donde se están produciendo, de manera cada vez más recurrente, condiciones preocupantes de degradación ambiental y pérdida de la biodiversidad, derivando en una cantidad importante de disputas y formas crecientes de polarización social. En este artículo presentamos los resultados preliminares de un estudio exploratorio que, desde el campo de la antropología ecológica, aborda algunos conflictos socio ambientales presentes hoy en día en esta área metropolitana, centrando nuestro objetivo en describir tres casos donde se ven enfrentados los intereses de la ciudadanía con los intereses económicos de grupos corporativos. Los casos descritos reflejan experiencias de resistencia social surgidas desde los espacios ciudadanos involucrados en estos conflictos y permiten identificar los contenidos y prácticas que favorecen la participación e inclusión ciudadana en los procesos de gestión urbana y ambiental de las áreas metropolitanas del país. | es-ES |
