The paper presents the first set of problems provided by project The History within the Chilean Fiction Film. Three main guidelines have been identified on literature about the relationship between film and history: 1. The study on film representations of historical facts, 2. The pedagogical uses of film to teach history, and 3. The validity of film as a source for historical research. These lines inscribed the main problems to be addressed by any researcher: Are both the film and historical discourse comparable to each other? How they make a plausible shape of real? Do they imply each other in their social practices? Our project will solve these issues through an analysis linking the discourses of the films considered with the current social discourses on Chilean historical facts.El artículo presenta las primeras problematizaciones del proyecto La historia en el cine chileno de ficción. Se identifican tres líneas de trabajo principales acerca de la reflexión sobre las relaciones entre cine e historia: 1. El estudio de las representaciones fílmicas sobre hechos históricos; 2. Los usos didácticos del cine para la enseñanza de la historia; y 3. La validez del material fílmico como fuente para la investigación histórica. Estas líneas inscriben los principales problemas que ha de abordar el investigador: ¿Son el discurso fílmico y el histórico comparables entre sí? ¿Cómo conforman sus verosímiles sobre lo real? ¿Se implican mutuamente en sus usos sociales? Nuestro proyecto tratará estos problemas a través de un análisis que vincule los discursos de las películas seleccionadas con las discursos sociales sobre los hechos históricos vigentes en nuestro país.
