| dc.description | “Pueblo Ranquel” is a settlement of rankülche people descendants, located in the province of San Luis, Argentina. It was developed by the provincial government as part of acknowledgement actions to indigenous peoples during the first decade of the twentyfirst century. These measures included the restitution of land and the building of a village for these new settlers –self-identified as rankülches– who used to live scattered in provincial urban centres. In this new scenario, indigenous traditional practices and meanings linked to the landscape are activated and revitalized, which has contributed in building a Rankülche cultural heritage unparalleled in the region. In this sense, the aim of this article is to analyze, through an ethnographic approach, the ethnic experiences put into practice in this context, in order to argue and reflect on the particularities of this identity re-emergence and recreation process. | en-US |
| dc.description | “Pueblo Ranquel” es un asentamiento de familias descendientes rankülches, ubicado en la provincia de San Luis, Argentina. Fue desarrollado por el gobierno provincial como parte de acciones de reconocimiento a los pueblos indígenas durante la primera década del siglo XXI. Estas medidas incluyeron la restitución de tierras y la construcción de un pueblo para estos nuevos pobladores –auto-identificados como rankülches– que vivían dispersos en los centros urbanos de la provincia. En este nuevo escenario, se activan y revitalizan prácticas tradicionales y significados indígenas relacionados con el paisaje, lo que ha apuntado a construir un patrimonio cultural rankülche sin precedentes en la región. En este sentido, el objetivo de este artículo es analizar, a través de un enfoque etnográfico, las experiencias étnicas puestas en práctica en este contexto para argumentar y reflexionar sobre las particularidades de este proceso de reemergencia y recreación de la identidad. | es-ES |
