Different taper and volume equations were evaluated to be applied in Douglas fir plantations. For the processes of fitness and validation we worked with information of 180 trees coming from stands owned by the Experimental Forest Center (CEFOR) of the Universidad Austral de Chile. One measure of bias and one of error were used to evaluate the different models in their volume predictions, taper equations were also evaluated in their diameters and heights estimations. Althoug volume equations give the better results, we do not recommend their use consequense of crossing in the estimations.Se evaluaron diferentes funciones de volumen y ahusamiento para ser aplicadas en plantaciones de pino oregón Para los procesos de ajuste y validación se trabajó con información de 180 árboles provenientes de rodales pertenecientes al Centro Experimental Forestal (CEFOR) de la Universidad Austral de Chile. Un estadístico de error y otro de sesgo se usaron como medidas para evaluar las distintas funciones en sus estimaciones de volúmenes, las funciones de ahusamiento se evaluaron además en sus estimaciones de diámetros y alturas. Si bien las funciones de volumen entregan los mejores resultados, su uso no se recomienda por un problema de cruzamiento de las estimaciones.
