| dc.description | It seems to be scientifically relevant to know, in its diatopic andsociolinguistic aspects and with the utmost empirical veracity, theSpanish used in an America that was politically detaching from themetropolis. Not only to verify what was the authentic linguistic realityin the emancipated continental territories, but also to tackle properlythree important issues concerning the general history of AmericanSpanish. In the first place, the way in which this language evolvedin America as a whole during the administration of the Viceroyalty,until Independence was obtained. In the second place, to establish onsolid grounds the study of the normative trends pervading cultivatedAmerican circles, difficult assemblage between due academicismand the simple defence of the speech of the elite, not forgetting theidiomatical practice of the people, that was nothing else than anotheraspect of the norm. Finally, to asses what, since then, has really meantinnovation, or conservation, in the Spanish of Americans up to now.Starting from my research already published on this matter, newdocumentary contributions appear, so that the historical perspectivebecomes deeper and more transparent. It is with this purpose in mindthat I provide the first additions, related to two important grammaticalphenomena in the configuration of American Spanish. | en-US |
| dc.description | Parece científicamente relevante conocer con la mayor veracidadempírica, y en sus aspectos diatópico y sociolingüístico, el españolde una América que se desligaba de su dependencia política de laantigua metrópoli. Y ello no solo para comprobar cuál era la auténticarealidad lingüística en los dominios continentales emancipados,sino para poder abordar con la debida solvencia tres cuestionesimportantes de la historia general del español americano. En primerlugar, la manera en que había ido evolucionando la lengua en elconjunto de América mientras duró la administración virreinal,hasta llegar a la disyuntiva independentista. En segundo lugar, paraestablecer sobre base firme el estudio de las corrientes normativasque recorrieron los ambientes cultos americanos, en difícil maridajeentre el academicismo reglamentista y la simple defensa del hablarde las elites, sin olvidar la práctica idiomática de las masas populares,que no dejaba de ser otra vertiente de la norma. Finalmente, para asíaquilatar mejor lo que desde entonces verdaderamente ha habidode innovación, o de conservación en su caso, en el español de los americanos hasta el día de hoy. Partiendo de mi investigación yapublicada sobre esta problemática, nuevas aportaciones documentalesse imponen, de modo que la perspectiva histórica sea cada vez másprofunda y diáfana, y con tal fin entrego en este artículo las primerasadiciones, referentes a dos fenómenos gramaticales de importanciaen la configuración del español de América. | es-ES |
