| dc.description | In this article two texts are presented -the Expositio Totius Mundi and the Topographia Christiana- in relation with the form in which the human being interprets his world and, therefore, the place that in it he occupies. The starting point of the following reflections is the C. Glacken‘s book, suggestive and scholarly work in which the author speaks about the relation that existed, from early times, between nature and culture, in the western thought. It is probable that, in its final form, this article is too far from Glacken‘s work; but, two ideas are considered in the theme of the present study: Glacken speaks of order and purpose of the human work as reflection of the order and purpose of the cosmos, whose sense man tries to discover. In the Antiquity, order and purpose belong to myth, like total explanation; in the Christian world, to Revelation. | en-US |
| dc.description | En este artículo se presentan dos textos -la Expositio Totius Mundi y la Topographia Christiana- que dicen relación con la forma en que el hombre ha interpretado su mundo y, por tanto, el lugar que en él ocupa. El punto de partida de las siguientes reflexiones lo constituye un libro de C. Glacken, sugerente y erudita obra en la cual el autor plantea la relación que ha existido, desde tiempos inmemoriales, entre naturaleza y cultura, en el pensamiento occidental. Es probable que, en su forma final, este trabajo se aleje de los postulados del mencionado autor; no obstante, dos nociones nos llevaron a considerar el tema del presente estudio: Glacken habla de orden y propósito de la obra humana como reflejo del orden y propósito del cosmos, cuyo sentido el hombre trata de develar. En la Antigüedad, ese orden y propósito está en el mito, como explicación totalizadora; en época cristiana, en la Revelación. | es-ES |
