| dc.description | It is a matter of purely scientific dissension whether the history of Peninsular Spanish is to be approached either ignoring the history of American Spanish or paying only marginal attention to it, the same being valid for the research designs which adopt the reverse direction. The dissension as to how this issue is to be addressed is not only a matter of controversy among linguists but among historians as well, specially as to the role that the Andalusian dialect has played in the phonetic evolution of Peninsular Spanish and the linguistic relations holding between this variety and the Spanish transplanted into the American soil. The present study deals with these issues, supporting the overcoming of the doctrinal and empirical tenets of the founding fathers of Hispanic Philology, and maintaining that it is unacceptable the current divorce prevailing in the diachronic research of both varieties of Spanish, particularly on what refers to the foundational stage of the new variety and the process of its settling in the American soil. | en-US |
| dc.description | Hay disenso puramente científico si en la historia del español de España se ignora todo lo que concierne a la historia del español americano, o se le presta una atención meramente marginal, lo mismo que si el planteamiento en la investigación se da a la inversa. Pero el disenso en esta cuestión lingüística también consiste en la controversia entre historiadores, frecuentemente con ribetes de personalismo, en principio a cuenta del papel que al andaluz se le pueda atribuir en el esclarecimiento de la evolución fonética del español peninsular y en la relación de éste con el trasplantado a América. El presente estudio se dedica a tratar estos problemas, a defender la superación de lo que los maestros de la filología española doctrinal y empíricamente dejaron asentado al respecto, y a sostener que es inaceptable el divorcio en la investigación diacrónica entre la parcela europea y la extensión ultramarina del español, sobre todo en la etapa fundacional y de su asentamiento en América. | es-ES |
