The Los Rios Region of Chile has a strong tradition of building with a number of local systems, which have a high level of architectural, social and cultural heritage or traditional techniques.The research which forms part of the Cultural Heritage Assessment Study of the Los Rios region (Regional Government (GORE) and Universidad Austral de Chile) on 2011, is proposed as a starting point for our study. It represents the status of regional art, based on the concept of cultural heritage established by UNESCO. It proposed the taxonomic grouping of architectural styles for both urban and rural environments whose implementation can be traced in the regional history of the Los Rios region.El territorio que conforma la Región de Los Ríos, Chile, posee una vasta tradición constructiva, con un marcado acervo de tipologías locales, como expresiones patrimoniales arquitectónicas que poseen un alto valor de tradición socio cultural y técnica tradicional.La investigación desarrollada y parte del Estudio Diagnóstico del Patrimonio Cultural de la Región de Los Ríos, perteneciente al Gobierno Regional (GORE) y la Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh), el 2011, se constituye como el estado del arte regional, en base al concepto de patrimonio cultural establecido por la UNESCO. Se propone entre otros aspectos el agrupamiento de los bienes arquitectónicos en conjuntos taxonómicos, cuya implantación en el territorio urbano y rural está sustentada por procesos de la historia regional que explican la tradición arquitectónica local de la Región de Los Ríos.
