| dc.description | The city of Yungay underwent the earthquake of February 2010, which produced serious damage to its households and infrastructure. Over two thousand students from the two main city schools had to be re-located in a modular school installed on lands belonging to the city’s municipal stadium. The project, besides from architecture, included green areas and a yard for the school, which will be highly important due to the crucial role the school will fulfill in the city reconstruction process. Three hard yards were projected, each one possessing a markedly different role, which are connected through wooden footbridges permitting the external circulation of the school and which also connect all classrooms and other spaces. | en-US |
| dc.description | La ciudad de Yungay sufrió el terremoto del 27 de Febrero 2010, el cual produjo graves daños en sus viviendas e infraestructura. Más de dos mil alumnos de las dos principales escuelas de la ciudad debieron ser relocalizados en una escuela modular ubicada en terrenos del estadio municipal de la ciudad. El proyecto, además de arquitectura, contempló áreas verdes y un patio para la escuela, el cual será de gran importancia para el rol crucial que ésta cumplirá en el proceso de reconstrucción de la ciudad. Se proyectaron tres patios duros, con roles marcadamente distintos, los que se conectan a través de pasarelas de madera que permiten las circulaciones exteriores del colegio y que conectan además, todas las salas de clases y otros recintos. | es-ES |
