| dc.description | To quantify the weed detrimental effect during the first two growing seasons, two field experiments were conducted at Portezuelo (72°24' Long W - 36°31' Lat S) and Pemuco (72°11' Long W - 36°58' Lat S). Also, the required weed control intensity and the accumulative effect of the two first years of weed control were determined. The pine plants' biomass index (D2H) decreased 65% when weeds were not controlled during the second year. A broad weed control programme was not necessary during the second year, being strip application of herbicides enough. When the area controlled was only equivalent to a "spotgun" application, pine plants grew as poorly as the ones in the weedy area during the second year. | en-US |
| dc.description | Se realizaron dos trabajos experimentales, uno en la localidad de Portezuelo (72°24' Long. W - 36°31' Lat. S) y otro en Pemuco (72°11' Long. W - 36°58' Lat. S), con el objeto de cuantificar el efecto detrimental producido por las malezas en la segunda temporada de crecimiento del pino, determinar la intensidad de control requerida en el segundo año y cuantificar el efecto acumulativo del control de las malezas en los dos primeros años. Al no controlar las malezas durante la segunda temporada de crecimiento, se perdió un 65% de incremento en biomasa (D2H). La intensidad de control, durante el segundo año, se limitaría a la banda de plantación, no siendo necesario el control a toda la superficie. Cuando el área controlada fue sola la equivalente a una aplicación tipo "spotgun" no se obtuvo ninguna ventaja y las plantas de pino presentaron los mismos crecimientos que aquellas que estuvieron enmalezadas durante el segundo año de crecimiento. | es-ES |
