dc.descriptionThe following paper starts from the theoretical postulate that the institutionalization of the associative dynamics between the agents increases their cooperation and collective action, even when we speak of international cooperation between nations. Therefore, our purpose is to analyze this phenomenon on an international scale, observing how Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa made use of the BRICS institutional space in order to build a joint position on issues on the international political agenda, in this case regarding the Syrian conflict. To do this, an analysis of the discourse will be carried out to systematize the position of the group based on the study of the official documentation of the BRICS (specifically speaking, the presidential Summits that arose during the group’s annual meetings) regarding the positions adopted vis-à-vis the Syria case throughout the period 2011–2015.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente trabajo parte del postulado teórico de que la institucionalización de las dinámicas asociativas entre los agentes aumenta su cooperación y acción colectiva, incluso cuando hablamos de cooperación internacional entre naciones. Por ende, nuestro propósito es analizar este fenómeno a escala internacional, observando cómo Brasil, Rusia, India, China y Sudáfrica, hicieron uso del espacio institucional de los BRICS con los fines de construir un posicionamiento conjunto frente a temáticas de la agenda política internacional, en este caso respecto del conflicto sirio. Para ello, se realizará un análisis del discurso que permita sistematizar el posicionamiento del grupo, partiendo del estudio de la documentación oficial de los BRICS (específicamente hablando, las summits presidenciales surgidas en el seno de las reuniones anuales del grupo) respecto de las posiciones adoptadas frente al Caso Siria a lo largo del período 2011–2015.es-ES
