| dc.description | This paper analyzes the trade position of China and the United States and the reason for the trade tensions between both economic powers. For this, trade position indicators are used and the logical method is applied, as well as comparative analysis and synthesis to understand the trade tensions, called in the academic literature as trade war. The study shows that the United States promotes free trade, as a strategy to increase or maintain its global participation, when the results favor it; on the other hand, when this does not occur or a threat is detected, as in the case of China, the United States uses trade policy instruments. The data shows that China has played well with the rules of WTO to increase its participation in the international trade since joining this organization. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente trabajo analiza la posición comercial de China y Estados Unidos y la razón de las tensiones comerciales entre ambas potencias económicas. Para ello, se utilizan indicadores de posición comercial y se aplica el método lógico, así como el análisis comparativo y síntesis para comprender las tensiones comerciales, definidas en la literatura académica como guerra comercial. El estudio muestra que, cuando los resultados del comercio favorecen a Estados Unidos, como potencia hegemónica, promueve el libre comercio como una estrategia para aumentar o mantener su participación mundial; por otro lado, cuando detecta una amenaza, en este caso de China, o cuando los resultados del comercio no lo favorecen, utiliza instrumentos de política comercial. Los datos señalan que China, desde que ingresó a la OMC, ha jugado bien con las reglas de este organismo para aumentar su participación en el comercio internacional. | es-ES |
