This article studies Aquinas's simple apprehension —also called by Aristotle knowledge of the indivisible— under discussion with Peter Geach's objection. This philosopher states that the consideration of the concept as such is a myth. In the light of different texts by Thomas Aquinas, the extents and limits of this first operation of intelligence are explained as well as in what sense it must not be considered an isolated operation from the rest ofthe cognitive life of men. En el artículo se estudia la simple aprehensión tomasiana —llamada también por Aris-tóteles conocimiento de los indivisibles— en discusión con la objeción de Peter Geach. Este filósofo afirma que la consideración del concepto en sí mismo es un mito. A la luz de diversos textos de Tomás de Aquino, se explican los alcances y límites de esta primera operación de la inteligencia, como también en qué sentido no se la debe considerar una operación aislada del resto de la vida cognoscitiva del hombre.
