dc.descriptionBurkitt’s lymphoma, a form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, is a neoplastic monoclonal proliferation of lymphoid cells in areas of the immune system. It can occur in HIV-positive patients, as AIDS is related to the development of non- Hodgkin lymphoma. Burkitt's lymphoma is a rare subtype, highly prevalent in patients with AIDS. Incisional biopsy, in situ hybridization and computerized axial tomography are the appropriate tests to determine the characterize of the lesions. The case of a 4-year-old HIV-positive patient, who developed Burkitt’s lymphoma of the oral cavity, is reported in this paper. The aim of this case report is to describe the course of the pathology, taking into account its clinical imaging characteristics and treatment.en-US
dc.descriptionEl linfoma de IBurkitt, una forma de linfoma no Hodgkin, es una proliferación monoclonal neoplásica de células linfoides en áreas del sistema inmunitario. Puede ocurrir en pacientes VIH positivos, ya que el SIDA está relacionado con el desarrollo del linfoma no Hodgkin. El linfoma de Burkitt es un subtipo raro, altamente prevalente en pacientes con SIDA. La biopsia incisional, la hibridación in situ y la tomografía axial computarizada son las pruebas apropiadas para determinar la caracterización de las lesiones. En este artículo se informa el caso de un paciente VIH positivo de 4 años que desarrolló el linfoma de Burkitt de la cavidad oral. El objetivo de este informe de caso es describir el curso de la patología, teniendo en cuenta sus características de imagen clínica y el tratamiento.es-ES
